Welcome to this unofficial fan-made gallery of singles, videos & snippets from Chance the Rapper's "Star Line" era.
Click here if you prefer a traditional timeline view.
How To
Tap any artwork or the "Play Video" button to play. The next song will auto-play on desktop.
Also be sure the to tap the extra (i) info on each placard to learn about the many snippets that dropped between songs. This (i) info is most easily read on desktop.
Swipe left/right to view songs or tap one of the album covers at the bottom.
Songs with artwork by known artists will have links to the artists home pages to learn more about them.
Hit the "reverse" button in the top-right if you want to listen from newest to oldest.
(FYI, reversing the order also updates the url to starline.gallery/?reverse=true. You can bookmark this URL and check back when you want to see the latest new songs.)
Songs on streaming will have service links below the song info placard.
I’ve also collected all songs on streaming into playlists on the below services:
• Apple MusicMobile / Phones
On mobile, sometimes YouTube won't auto-play the next song and you'll need to tap play.
Some screens are also too small to show the YouTube controls to let you seek/rewind in a video. Most phones will show the controls if you flip from portrait to landscape orientation. The controls are always available on tablet/laptop sized screens.
About
This site was inspired by the original album/mixtape name "Star Line Gallery", its theme, and specifically when Chance tweeted a “gallery” thread on August 22, 2024.
The frame styling comes from Chance’s streaming profile photo:
The "museum style" placards came from the Chance the Rapper & Star Line Gallery Collaborators at the Chicago Expo on April 13-16, 2023:
For even more Chance the Rapper updates, I've found Aaron Williams' and Uproxx's coverage to be the most thorough.
Next Steps
The current site focuses on all the songs that have official artwork + YouTube uploads so that it can auto-play through all the songs in order.
Next up I want to make an alternate timeline view that surfaces all the snippets, interviews, and context that's currently behind the (i) placard of each song. Especially because the placard can be a bit difficult to scroll on mobile. I was surprised how many snippets were released between songs.
